UX Memory Palace
A personalized UI/UX pattern library generated from user's browsing habits, helping them remember effective design solutions.
The project, "UX Memory Palace," is inspired by Memento (short-term memory loss), I, Robot (AI understanding patterns), and Usage Statistics scrapers. It aims to create a personalized UI/UX pattern library for designers based on their own browsing history and online activity.
Story & Concept: Imagine a UI/UX designer constantly searching for inspiration, frequently revisiting the same design patterns across different websites. Like the protagonist in Memento, they struggle to remember which design solutions worked best in specific contexts. This project acts as their 'memory palace'. It passively observes their browsing habits (websites visited, articles read, code snippets copied), using a web scraper (Usage Statistics inspiration) and lightweight AI (I, Robot inspiration – pattern recognition) to identify frequently accessed UI/UX components, design patterns, and best practices.
How it works:
1. Browser Extension: A browser extension tracks the user's browsing history, focusing on websites related to UI/UX design (Dribbble, Behance, UI Patterns, Material Design documentation, etc.).
2. Content Scraper & Analyzer: The extension scrapes relevant content from these websites and uses basic NLP to identify key UI elements (buttons, forms, navigation bars), design patterns (card layouts, modal windows, hamburger menus), and associated metadata (e.g., "card with image and title," "form with validation errors").
3. Pattern Library Generation: The system analyzes the scraped data to identify frequently accessed patterns and creates a personalized pattern library. This library presents the patterns in a user-friendly format, allowing the designer to easily browse, search, and access the original source websites.
4. Memento-esque Notes: The system allows the designer to add custom notes and reminders to each pattern, explaining why they found it useful or how they intend to use it. This simulates the 'tattoo' system from Memento, reinforcing the user's memory and connecting patterns to specific projects.
5. Monetization:
- Premium Features: Offer premium features like advanced pattern analysis, integration with design tools (Figma, Sketch), or team collaboration for a subscription fee.
- Affiliate Links: Include affiliate links to design resources (UI kits, icon sets, fonts) within the pattern library.
- Data Anonymization & Sales: Anonymize aggregated usage data to identify popular design trends and sell this data to UI/UX research firms or design tool companies (with user consent, of course).
Niche & Low-Cost: This project is niche (focused on UI/UX designers), low-cost (primarily using open-source tools and a browser extension), and has high earning potential (subscription model, affiliate marketing, data sales).
